Luxurious Custom Made Sheepskin Floor &
Boot Mats
We were honoured to be asked by a firm called McMillan’s, which specialise in the sale of Rolls Royce, Bentley and Aston Martin, to make floor and boot mats for a Series II Silver Sprite Rolls Royce.
This car had sheepskin floor mats made previously by a firm that no longer exists.
The owner had his Rolls Royce car completely refurbished by McMillan’s. I have never seen such workmanship in my fifty years in this business.
We quoted on one weeks work, however the job took three weeks to complete. There were four issues which had to be addressed:
1. Select top quality skins
2. Get the colour right
3. Stop skins from crumbling under foot
4. Eliminate slip
Drawing on my many experiences in developing products, from fuel-saving devices to all sorts of road-handling equipment. From developing sill protectors to perfect seatcovers. I was able to come up with a stiffening process and an anti-slip method, to give perfect stabilisation of the mats.
A very satisfactory result was achieved.
